Does anyone know if its ok for the engine to tow an 11k 5er with the Revo timing set to #4 (economy)?
How much more timing do you get with the #4 (economy, more timing than #2) setting vs. the default #2 (advanced timing)?
With 80hp KAX injectors would the economy mode work ok? I tried the aftermarket injector timing (#3) and hated it. Truck ran terrible.
How much more economy (MPGs) are you seeing with the timing set to #4?
Are you noticing a reduction in EGTs?
I'm towing the 5er to Kahneeta tomorrow after work and want to try LEVEL 1 with the timing set to #2 or #4 but don't want to hurt the engine...
Maybe a simple answer doesn't exist, but the Revo instructions don't give me enough info or facts so that I understand what the different parameters are really changing or effecting and I don't want to keep experimenting...
This is what I want to see in the Revo instructions (as an example using timing):
Timing:
1 - Stock; no change
2 - Advanced; timing advanced xdeg BTDC which will increase mpgs (range)and decrease EGTs (deg F range)
3 - Retarded timing; for aftermarket injectors because ..... (give explanation), ie-less rattle, why the need for retarded timing???
4 - Economy; more advanced than 2 (how much more), (what are the advantages... better fuel economy, lower EGTs??), give the disadvantages (more rattle, do not tow, etc...)
Do this for all the parameter options.
Thanks,
Louis
