47RH rebuild.September 15th, 2008
Well, my trans. needs a rebuild and I was thinking on trying to do it myself. I think if I take my time, take lots of pics and ask for help every now and then it should all come together. First thing I would like to ask is if there is any specialty tools that one may need to do this sort of thing at home. Also is there anything at first I need to take note of before I start tearing it apart? I checked the in-out movement of the input shaft, what are acceptable tolerances here? I can't remember now for 100% but I think there was 2-3mm in movement front to back. Anyway, any info/help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
