Eagle Eye is a race-against-time thriller starring Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson, Anthony Mackie and Billy Bob Thornton. Jerry Shaw (LaBeouf) and Rachel Holloman (Monaghan) are two strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. Threatening their lives and family, she pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations using the technology of everyday life to track and control their every move. As the situation escalates, these two ordinary people become the country's most wanted fugitives, who must work together to discover what is really happening and more importantly, why.
My Take: Saw the movie recently and found it entertaining but shallow. The beginning and through about the first half it was very entertaining because we were still trying to figure out who the woman is, how she is keeping track of them, and how she could be so precise. Reminded me a bit of Burn Notice. But in my opinion once we figured out who the woman was, the movie went downhill and left a lot to be desired. The concept was interesting but nothing new and I agree with what others have said that the movie borrows heavily from a bunch of other (arguably better) movies. Overall, I think it was barely worth the price of admission. I guess I expected more from it so I give it about average rating.
