Just recently, my truck has started throwing a P1693 (and nothing else after switching the key on/off three times) everytime I put the truck under "hard" (see explanation below) acceleration.

To provide a bit of history on this problem...

2001 HO engine; 6-speed. The truck has approximately 147,000 miles on it and the original VP44. I recently had a FASS HPFP 150 GPH installed and around the same time I cleaned my MAP sensor. I don't know if the MAP sensor would be involved, but in the interest of full disclosure, I am making note of it here.

I have an Edge Comp (with boost fooler) currently running on 5x3 that was running on 3x3 (since 105,000 miles) until after the FASS was installed. No other power or fueling enhancements are installed.

I have recently noticed a very slight flat spot when accelerating. It does not happen everytime I acceleate and it seems to last just a fraction of a second. I can press the accelerator to bypass the flat spot.

The "hard" acceleration I alluded to earlier is about 3/4 throttle, usually in 4th or 5th and up a slight incline. The problem does not seem to present itself at lower throttle settings. The truck has always been unloaded when the check engine light is displayed.

During these "hard" accelerations, my boost has been in the 30-31 pound range and fuel pressure has never dropped below 14-15 psi (13.5 at full throttle with the FASS).

I don't have a code reader and have not tried AutoZone or Floor-It Performance Diesel (John installed my FASS) to see if any more codes were thrown. I need to do that the next time the CEL is displayed.

In reading other posts on the P1693 code, some had suggested the APPS might be bad or the VP44 is dying a slow painful (to my wallet) death. Any comments?

Is the FASS involved or is this just a coindence? Unfortunately, I did not do any full throttle roll-ons until after the FASS was installed so I don't have a comparison. I was trying to protect the VP44 until I could install the FASS.

Thanks in advance for you comments and suggestions.
